Going gluten free, can be a real challenge when it comes to recreating delicious baked goods, that don't taste, well, gluten free!
In this class we will explore the why of various flour blends, the flavour void that often accompanies gluten free baked goods, and to combine various flours and starches to help create wonderful flaky pastry, pie crusts and tender tarts.
I this class we will cover:
How to make, handle and shape perfect gluten free pie crust
How to make puff pastry
Create tender buttery tarts for various fillings
Make wonderful appetizers for entertaining
Make the famous European Frangipane tart (once you know the basics of this dessert, the options are endless)
Class includes a delicious gluten free lunch and take home items from class.
This class will include the use of nuts (almond and chestnut flours), butter and eggs. We do our best to accommodate for food restrictions, but cannot guarantee cross contamination will not happen outside of being a gluten free kitchen.
